Homestead National Monument

Since we had an airport car and some time, we checked out the homestead museum just outside Beatrice.  It is supposedly on the site of the first homesteaders claim.  Also part of this facility is a one room schoolhouse that was used up until the 50's.

Depart MD around noon Friday aug 30.  First stop is to vist friends Rick and Maggie in Columbus.  Scattered and broken clouds over the mountains but could always see a hole to descend thru if needed.  Took a little over 11,000 to top the highest clouds over WV.  Landed at KOSU which had great line service that I wasn't used to.  Great accommodations and home cooked dinner.
